This coin was a present from my friend, a member of the staff at the State Office of Information Technology, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the State of Illinois’ first state-run internet business. It has a value of $1.00 and was made using a laser cutter.
This coin was designed by an artist named Ben Fogle.
The design is very simple. It takes the form of a simple circle, but with the added detail of the letter “I” inside it.
