This project manager role is a tough job and one that I’ve held for a short while now. This is the job that I’ve always had because of my education in the field of business administration and being a self-proclaimed nerd, I’ve always had a bit of a chip on my shoulder in regards to the importance of project management. I have never been afraid to work for a project manager or to step in and take on a project and then make it work.
In fact, I was a project manager for a few years in the early 2000s so I have some experience with project management. I do what I do because I love what I do. But the downside to working as a project manager is the fact that you have to be careful with your decisions. If you make a bad decision, you may end up working for yourself. For example, I once took on a project that was a $3M project.
The thing is that 3M has a culture of taking things on that are not in the budget and then making it work. If 3M took on a project, they would have to take on the project from the get-go, and they would then have to put all of their resources into it, including their own resources. They would also have to follow through with the project.
Associating is a bit more complex than taking on a project, and 3M wasn’t taking on a project. They were taking on me as their associate project manager. But 3M was making a mistake. In order to be an associate project manager, you have to be able to work independently, yet in a team. For example, there is a project management system that is very different from the one that an associate project manager is used to.
It makes it even more complicated because while 3M was actually working on the project, they werent taking any responsibility for it. So they were being lazy. Also, the associate project manager is not an employee of 3M, but a personal assistant. So they arent in control of the day to day project management. If 3M isnt taking on the project, then its their own fault.
It’s kind of like having a company in which you don’t like everyone else, but it’s not the company. You have the company, and that’s the company that they’re working on. So you can’t just like everyone else, and that’s their fault right there.
Well, there are a few different ways associate project managers have become associated with 3M. First, they become 3M’s “associate project manager” as a personal assistant. If you have an issue with 3M, they know who to call. Secondly, their boss may have assigned the associate project manager to a specific project, in which case its your responsibility to take down the project and get it on the schedule.
We’ve all been associated project managers, but we don’t do it because it’s cool any more. We do it because the company is in financial trouble and we have a hard time doing anything else.
This is a pretty common misconception. The term “associate project manager” actually refers to the process of creating a new project, which in our industry is usually a one-person-job, and getting it done on time and on budget. Our company does not have a project manager. Rather, we have project managers, which are the heads of projects. So instead of working in a project, you are working on a project manager.
