I’ve never seen pumpkin prices get lower and lower, but it is true that the pumpkin season has started and I am now ready to buy some. There is a limit to how much pumpkins I can afford to buy this year, but I am definitely not giving up. I am not about to buy nothing but pumpkins. I am not buying a big pumpkin or making a bunch of huge pumpkin pies.

We are not talking about gourmet pumpkin pie that is $10 and has a pumpkin carved out of it with a pumpkin logo on it. We are talking about a pumpkin that takes a bit of time to cook, but no more than a couple of hours. Some pumpkins are best when just cooked a day or two after harvesting. Others are best when they are left on the counter for a few days, then dug into later.

As long as we’re thinking about pumpkins, we should probably consider a pumpkin spice latte, which should keep us very happy for the next few days. Pumpkins are very expensive and I can’t imagine spending all that money to pick one out. It’s better to put it in a bag or container and keep it away from children.
